The first the virtual Igbo symposium on Disruptions: Breaks & Ruptures, was held from 17th-19th June 2020.
This video features the organisers of the Igbo conference :
Yvonne Chioma Mbanefo ( Co-convener ) , Louisa Egbunike ( Co-convener ) and Onyinye Iwu ( Speaker Logistics and Conference Coordinator).

One of the longest ruling Monarchs of Igbo land, Igwe K O Orizi graciously agreed to break the kolanut, to kickstart the virtual symposium.

Over the three days of the virtual symposium a range of speakers discussed significant moments of change for Igbo people, brought about by disruptive forces (both positive and negative). Conversations engaged with key historical events and changes in cultural practices, notions of identity and ways of seeing the world.
